The #1 Key to Scaling your Human Design Business

As an entrepreneur, the idea that you need to do everything yourself is THE THING that will stop you from scaling your business.

The cold hard truth is that, if you never delegate, your business will not grow to its full potential. In this post, we’ll explore the importance of delegation and provide you with a simple formula to determine which tasks you should delegate to free up your time for higher-impact activities.

Remember that you want to always be focused on your top 20% of activities. The Pareto Principle rings as true in your business as it does everywhere else in your life.

Overcoming the Resistance to Delegation

Many entrepreneurs struggle with the concept of delegation. This resistance often stems from the belief that they must understand and handle every aspect of their business. However, this mindset can lead to burnout and stifle growth.

The best place for you to be in your business is in the driver’s seat with your creativity 100% ON. Your mission, your vision, your unique expression is the thing that will move your business forward. If you’re focused on all of the things in the background, you’ll miss the big opportunities to grow your business.

Are you the Overwhelmed Entrepreneur, the Newbie, or the Cheapskate?

  1. The Overwhelmed Entrepreneur: You’re juggling client work, backend tasks, scheduling, emails, social media, and more. You reach a point where you can’t take on more clients because you’re at full capacity, doing the things that you have no business doing! YOUR JOB is to bring in the money!!
  2. The New Business Owner: You see the long list of tasks needed to start your business and feel overwhelmed, preventing you from taking the first steps. You probably feel like you need to know how to connect your CRM, build your website, grow your social media, etc. when really – YOUR JOB is to bring in the money!!
  3. The Cheapskate: Well. What can I say here? You’re so busy focusing on nickel and dime-ing to save money that you don’t even see the opportunity to CREATE money in your business. YOUR JOB is to bring in the money!!!

The solution to all of these issues lies in effective delegation.

The Delegation Formula

To determine which tasks to delegate, use this simple formula:

  1. Decide Your Annual Income Goal: For example, let’s say you want to make $60,000 per year.
  2. Determine Your Working Hours: A standard full-time schedule is around 2000 hours per year (40 hours per week with two weeks off).
  3. Calculate Your Hourly Rate: Divide your annual income goal by the number of hours you want to work. Example: $60,000 / 2000 hours = $30 per hour.

The Rule: Delegate any task that can be done for less than your calculated hourly rate.

Disclaimer: Of course I hope that you’ll work less than 2000 hours a year!! Please use your perfect case scenario for this and then continually put it out into the Universe as already done.

Practical Example

If your goal is to make $60,000 per year and your hourly rate is $30, any task that can be outsourced for less than $30 an hour should be delegated. For instance, if you can hire someone to manage your social media or handle email sequences for $10-$15 an hour, it’s a wise investment because that task is costing you a lot more than $10-$15 in lost opportunity.

Stay with me here. Let’s say you choose to do the task yourself. Not only has it cost you $30/hour for your own time, you need to consider the opportunity cost of the task you didn’t get done that could have made you money in your business!!

Is this making sense to you?

The cost of NOT delegating in your business is so much higher than the cost of delegating will ever be.

Read that again please.

The Benefits of Delegation

  • Prevents Burnout: By delegating lower-value tasks, you can focus on high-impact activities that drive your business forward while conserving your energy.
  • Enables Business Growth: Delegation frees up your time, allowing you to take on more clients and expand your offerings. Heck! Even if ‘all’ you do is give yourself space for your own creativity, it will grow your business more than getting that Many Chat funnel in place yourself ever will. (Ask me how much time I’ve wasted on THIS task, why don’t ya? 😜)
  • Supports Others: Hiring help provides job opportunities and supports the growth of others. It’s an incredible feeling when you understand that your business is providing an income opportunity for someone else. It’s so fulfilling!

Finding the Right Help

There are many platforms where you can find affordable help, including:

  • Fiverr
  • Upwork
  • OnlineJobs.ph
  • The Bodygraph Chart Community

Hiring Tip: Create an ad to attract applicants. This approach can streamline the process and help you find the right fit more efficiently compared to simply searching the platform. Talk about overwhelming!

The Bigger Picture

Delegation isn’t just about reaching seven-figure goals. It’s about creating a balanced business that aligns with your personal goals, whether that’s $60,000 or $100,000 per year. The key is to focus on the tasks that generate the most significant results and delegate the rest. Period.

Conclusion

Effective delegation is essential for scaling your business and avoiding burnout. By using the delegation formula, you can identify tasks that are better handled by others and focus on what you do best.
